School Uniform & Equipment

Our Mission Statement states that we have "expectations of the highest possible standards in all things for all pupils..."
We expect pupils to wear their uniform with pride.

 
KS3 uniform KS4 Uniform

 All pupils are expected to wear:

  • The school tie (All years are required to wear the clip-on ties. Year 11 prefects wear a blue tie supplied by the school)
  • White plain shirt/blouse (school polo shirt may be worn from 1st May until 31st July)
  • Black plain skirt/trousers of an appropriate length (jeans/cords/linen trousers/legging style (stretch) trousers are not acceptable)
  • School maroon jumper with logo (key stage 3 pupils)
  • School black jumper with logo (key stage 4 pupils)
  • Black flat sensible shoes (not boots or trainers)
  • Plain white/black socks or tan/black tights

(optional additional summer uniform - students may wear a grey school cardigan with the school logo over the summer polo shirt - the wearing of the maroon/black jumper over the polo shirt is not permitted. Students may wish to continue to wear the full winter uniform on cold summer days.)

Pupils must not wear:

  • Trainers (apart from in PE lessons)
  • T shirts, zipped tops, hoodies or sweat shirts

For clarification, School shoes should be

  • Leather/leather look
  • All black
  • without logos or writing on them.

Current fashion shoes like plimsolls should not be worn for PE (or around school). They are unsuitable and could cause injury as they are not substantial enough.

 SCHOOL UNIFORM REGULATIONS

  • All uniform should be marked with the owner’s name.
  • The only jewellery allowed is a watch and one small sleeper
  • (6mm diameter) or stud in each ear lobe.
  • Hand and wrist jewellery including watches must be removed
  • during Food and Resistant materials Technology lessons whilst all jewellery must be removed for PE.
  • Exceptions cannot be made for recently pierced ears, so pupils are advised not to have their ears pierced during term time.
  • No make-up including nail varnish; - pupils wearing makeup or nail varnish will be provided with appropriate cleansing agents to remove them.
  • Hair colour must be natural and the style appropriate for school. Extreme hair styles are not allowed.
  • No facial piercing.

Every student is expected to provide the following basic items of equipment for every lesson.

Tippex/liquid paper is not allowed in school and must not be used in any school work as it is forbidden by the examination boards. Textbooks and specialised equipment will be used on loan and students will be required to pay for any loss or damage to school property. This includes the school planner.
