St Thomas More is a wonderfully friendly, hardworking and successful school in the beautiful spa town of Buxton.

There are just under 400 pupils on roll in this popular and successful 11 to 16 comprehensive school. The school serves all areas of the High Peak. Children also travel from across the borders of Staffordshire and Cheshire to be part of our school community. Approximately 60% of our pupils are Catholic, but whether of the Christian faith, other faiths or no faith, the children are very proud of their school.

Our 2015 GCSE results are in and we are so pleased with the excellent performance of our fabulous 'Year of 2015'. Out of the cohort of 84 students (1 student is 1.2%), 79% achieved 5 or more A* to C grades; 74% including English and Maths. 99% of students left with 5 GCSE passes.  A third of students achieved at least 3 A/A* grades which, at this time of increased pressure, is a tremendous accomplishment.

Particularly excellent performances came from Grace Bullivant and Ewan Kilpatrick who each achieved 11 A/A* grades, Lucy Boardman, Jessica Ward-Clark, Thomas McKee and Helen Thornhill who achieved 10 A/A* grades, Leah Babington and Kieran Connell who achieved 9 A/A* grades, Natasha Brickstock and Evie Ferguson who achieved 8 A/A* grades, Gina Gill who achieved 7 A*/A grades, Hannah Bradbury who achieved 6 A*/A grades and Greg Hall, Isabelle Jobson-Pargeter and Niamh MacNamara who achieved 5 A*/A grades - with all their other grades being Bs. That is almost a fifth of the cohort achieving 5 or more A*/A grades and 60% achieving at least 1 A/A* grade. Brilliant!
