Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh Award students met Prince Edward at Lea Green
A group of eight year ten students from Saint Thomas More School’s Duke of Edinburgh Award group were recently invited to attend a Duke of Edinburgh Award Derbyshire celebration at Lea Green Development centre.
The young people not only had the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities including orienteering, high ropes course and a team swing, they were delighted to be introduced to His Royal Highness, the Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward who came to visit the event. They were asked by the Prince about their bronze expedition which they undertook in a mixed bag of Peak District weather. Since then, the group spent a very wet weekend in Gradbach for their bronze award expedition. The extremely wet weather could not dampen their spirits.
